Mayor Unveils Town Enhancement Award at St Stephen's Place Leisure Park, Trowbridge.
25 September 2014
Legal & General Property (LGP) is pleased to announce that the Mayor of Trowbridge today officially unveiled the Town Enhancement Award plaque at St Stephen’s Place Leisure Park, in a presentation outside the ODEON cinema.
St Stephen’s Place Leisure Park, which opened in November last year, is now officially an award-winning town centre leisure development since picking up the Town Enhancement Award at Trowbridge’s annual Civic and Town Enhancement Awards ceremony, which was presented by the Mayor of Trowbridge at the Mayor’s Civic Dinner.
The scheme comprises a state-of-the-art seven-screen ODEON multiplex cinema, 80 bed Premier Inn and seven restaurants let to popular family-orientated chains including Frankie & Bennys, Nandos, Prezzo and Deans Diner. The latest addition to the line-up, Mexican-themed restaurant Chiquitos, is set to open on 3 October 2014.
Tim Russell, senior asset manager at Legal & General Property, commented: "We are honoured to have received this prestigious award, which recognises the significant social enhancement and regeneration benefits that thoughtful development can bring to the communities around it. Breathing life back into Trowbridge town centre, our vibrant St Stephen's Place scheme looks to not only extend the leisure choices available to the local catchment area, but welcome visitors from further afield, creating jobs and supporting economic growth.
“As with other schemes across our portfolio, where it can Legal & General believes in investing and creating socially useful development and investment opportunities that are sustainable and will support generations to come. Credit must go to our development team led by our project managers Sweett Group and contractors Leadbitter Group who delivered this complex project, turning a vacant town centre brownfield site into this superb Leisure Park development within 18 months."
