Legal & General extends its presence on aggregator sites with link to tescocompare.com.
20 June 2013
Legal & General has reached an agreement with TescoCompare.com, one of the UK's most established comparison websites, to be on its home insurance provider panel, offering Essentials and Extra home insurance cover, from June 2013. Offering both products means customers have access to a range of cover options and choice in sourcing the most appropriate home insurance cover to suit their needs.
Legal & General's competitively-priced, quality home insurance cover meets Tesco Compare's commitment to offer customers choice, while being able to rely on a well-known brand that customers are able to trust. Tesco Compare believes that comparison sites should not be focused just on price. They should offer customers a service that is easy to use so they are able to quickly search and compare a range of products, from a wide variety of providers, to check the cover that best suits their personal circumstances.
TescoCompare.com was launched in 2007 and compares products across Insurance, Money, Utilities and Holidays.
Mike Lawler, Director for Legal & General's direct general insurance business, said; "As a responsible insurer, providing valued home insurance cover to our customers for 90 years, we understand customers expect quality cover and service when it comes to protecting their home and their most precious possessions. We understand that Tesco Compare customers all have very different requirements and want to be able to choose home insurance cover that actually suits their particular needs. Essentials and Extra provides TescoCompare.com customers with the choice to arrange home insurance that offers fundamental or more comprehensive cover, if that is what is needed. Plus, giving them the reassurance that they will have the support they need, when they need it most."
Vikki Macleod, Director of Tesco Compare, said: "We are committed to helping our customers find the best deals.
Legal & General is one of the most established names in the business and we believe it is important to offer our customers quality and good value. It is therefore great to have them on our panel as they clearly demonstrate that they have the same customer values as us.
At Tesco Compare, we work with some of the biggest insurers on the market, who meet our high standards.
Legal & General is one of those companies and we are looking forward to a long term working partnership with them."
Mike Lawler continued: "We are committed to understanding what our customers need from their home insurer and delivering insurance solutions that are competitive and valued. So it is great to be recognised for our customer-focused approach by Tesco Compare and the other aggregator sites that we work with.
Deciding and arranging home insurance cover just on price could potentially mean that customers are underinsured or do not have important cover in place. It's vital that customers check what cover they need and then decide what provider offers best overall value."
Legal & General currently works with the following aggregator sites: comparethemarket.com; confused.com; gocompare.com and moneysupermarket.com.
Legal & General also has a helpful Interactive House on the website which helps customer to check that they do have adequate home insurance cover in place - http://www.legalandgeneral.com/insurance/customer-portal/interactive-house/ It also allows policyholders to enter the first 5 digits of their policy number and navigate room-by-room, clicking on various items to see the level of cover they have in place.
