New suite of five funds draws on expertise in index tracking and dynamic asset allocation
Consistent risk ratings and low overall cost support advisers operating in a fee-based environment

Legal & General Investments (L&GI) today announced the launch of its Multi-Index range, consisting of five risk-targeted multi-asset funds that are diversified by asset class, low in cost and specifically designed to support the way UK financial advisers are working with their clients today.

The Legal & General (L&G) Multi-Index 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 funds offer exposure to equities, bonds and direct property. The funds gain exposure to UK and international equities and bonds by investing in L&G’s popular index tracking funds and to UK property through the L&G UK Property Trust. They offer instant asset class diversification without the need to monitor and rebalance multiple individual funds. The funds have an annual management charge of just 0.25% (I unit class) and by leveraging its in-house product range overall fees are kept low.

Each of the L&G Multi Index Funds corresponds to a specific risk rating and has been designed to maintain that risk rating over time. L&G’s Strategic Investment and Risk Management team will dynamically manage the funds’ asset allocation mix on an ongoing basis whilst ensuring the funds stay within the target risk profiles.

L&G use data from Distribution Technology, an independent agency, to set the asset allocation for each risk profile, giving advisers and investors greater predictability of the fund risk profile.

Simon Pistell, Managing Director, Legal & General Investments commented:

“Many UK advisers are looking for low-cost investment solutions that are easy to match to their clients’ risk profile. They want to reduce their focus on monitoring the fund universe and rebalancing portfolios and add value to other parts of the advice and investment process instead. At the same time, investors are looking for simple and effective ways to save and invest for the future.

“Risk-targeted multi-asset funds are ideal for this environment. We’ve designed our range to be easy to monitor, low in cost and to fit the way advisers are working with their clients today. Through these new funds, investors can access L&G’s award-winning index and property funds as well as our expertise in creating and managing multi asset strategies, which we have been doing for UK pension funds for over 20 years. We believe it’s a compelling one-stop solution and we’re looking forward to presenting the range to the adviser community in the months ahead.”
