Legal & General announces appointment of a new Benefits Rehabilitation Manager to further strengthen the Group Protection benefits team.

Legal & General has appointed Fiona King as the new Benefits Rehabilitation Manager. Fiona has extensive knowledge in Occupational Health and has worked in a number of different industries in this specialised area. A qualified registered general nurse since 1995, she brings a depth of expertise in cancer, palliative care, Health and Safety and Occupational Health. Fiona will lead a team of occupational health and rehabilitation specialists to deliver this vital support for Group Income Protection claimants.

We want to continue to specialise and innovate in this area and Fiona's appointment, will enable Legal & General Group Protection to maintain its leading position and oversee the delivery of early interventions, treatments, rehabilitation and back to work plans to meet the needs of our customers."
Legal & General delivered record sales in Q3 and YTD. UK protection (Retail and Group) increased APE sales by 30% to £56m. Group Protection achieved 100% increase in APE sales in Q3 2012 to £20m, mainly reflecting new schemes for previously self insured customers.
