Legal & General launch the first dedicated iphone Protection App, free for advisers.

Built for advisers, the app provides a quote facility that easily and quickly supports them when they are out visiting clients.
The key features of the app include:
- 'Real time', protection quotes which help advisers make the most of business opportunities.
- A Tools section that enables pre-selection of options to make the quote process tailored, simple and quick.
- Links to the Legal & General websites that give access to product information and literature.
- Links to an adviser's contacts list to set up clients interested in protection and calendar to enable advisers to book appointments.
- Pre-population of emails with the quote results so that advisers can email the details to themselves, their client or their administration team.
- 'Real time' marketing messages, product and pricing information.

Legal & General have created an engaging and user-friendly quote tool using the unique features of an App rather than just adapting existing quote functionality. This is the first quoting app of its kind and compliments the mortgage app we launched last year. We also want advisers to help us with future developments for the app such as interactive sales aids and we have included a feed back facility, which emails directly to the development team. This will ensure we build the functionality that advisers want and which will help them explain the importance of protection to their clients."

The app is available to download free of charge to advisers from 15th September 2011 from the Business or Finance section of the App Store or more details are available on the tools section of the Legal & General Adviser Centre. Users will need a valid Legal & General agency number to access the functionality.
The app is designed to be a quick quote tool providing accurate premiums. It requires the client details, single or joint life quotes are available, plus the product, sum assured and term. Depending on the connectivity the premium should then be returned to the device within seconds.
Products available include level and decreasing term assurance, business protection all with or without critical illness cover. Guaranteed or reviewable premiums are available, waiver and monthly or annual premium options.
The App has very simple intuitive navigation through the screens. Client details date of birth, product and term selection all use the ‘scroll wheel picker‘ and the sum assured is simply entered through a pop up number keypad.
There is an Adviser tools section, which allows the adviser to select settings for their quotes such as:
- Premium frequency monthly or annual;
- Premium basis for CIC quotes either guaranteed or reviewable;
- Waiver option on or off.
These settings can be changed to suit individual adviser preferences.
The app was developed in collaboration with TATA Consultancy Services, part of the TATA Group.
The app is supported to run on iPhone 3GS and above; IOS v4 and above; iPad versions 1 and 2 as well as ipod touch.
