Further strategic promotions made in recognition of achievements and to support growth of the LGP business

Legal & General Property (LGP) announces that it has made a number of significant promotions to support the growth of its business. These include the promotion of Charlie Walker to Director and appointment to the LGP Board, and the promotions of Katherine Laurenson, Ross Taylor and Michael Tate.

Charlie has played a key role in the development and growth of the LGP platform, most recently as Senior Fund Manager to the UK Property Income Fund (the “UK PIF”), which was one of only a handful of UK property funds successfully launched in 2010. In his new role as Director, he will continue to lead the management of UK PIF, which has just successfully secured a further £100 million of equity taking its GAV to above £400 million, as well as support the growth of the LGP business building on his strong institutional relationships.

In addition, LGP is pleased to announce the following promotions:

  • Ross Taylor to Senior Transactions Manager. Ross has made a significant contribution to the transactions area and his ambition energy and enthusiasm have been key in securing the volume and quality of acquisitions for LGP funds.
  • Michael Tate to fund Analysis Manager. Michael has taken the funds analysis within LGP to a more developed level. Given LGP’s focus on delivering strong investment returns through increasing transparency and attribution work, he has been an important contributor to improved performance.
  • Katherine Laurenson to Senior solicitor. Katherine has become a critical member of the Business Development team and is heavily involved in all aspects of fund structuring.

Bill Hughes, Managing Director of Legal & General Property, comments:

“These promotions are a significant endorsement of the quality, focus and energy each person brings to their role.”

“2010 was a very strong year for the business and the success of UKPIF is a clear illustration of this. I am very pleased that Charlie has been appointed to the LGP Board, which is a significant endorsement of his skill and strong institutional relationships.”
