You can manage your shareholding via our Share Portal. Here, you can change your address, username and password, organise how you wish to have your dividends paid to you and find information on how to buy and sell your shares.

What are the benefits of the Share Portal?
The Share Portal allows shareholders and employees to access their shareholding and employee share plan information. The Share Portal is:
- Online: You can access your shareholdings anywhere, anytime at your own convenience
- Secure: The Share Portal requires a memorable word and password for secure access
- Up-to-date: Your records are updated and maintained instantly.
To access the full range of online services you will need to register on the Share Portal. You will then be able to:
- View your holding balance and indicative share price and valuation
- View transactions on your holding and dividend payments you have received
- Access information on employee holdings as relevant
- Elect to receive shareholder communication electronically
- Update your address details
- Register or update a bank mandate instruction to have dividends or other payments paid directly to your bank account
- Sign up for the dividend reinvestment plan
- Access a wide range of shareholder information including downloadable forms
- Buy or sell shares in many UK companies via Link Share Dealing Services
- Cast your proxy vote online
How do I register for the Share Portal?
- Visit www.landgshareportal.com
- Select 'Register' from the right-hand panel
- Enter the following information:
- Investor code (found on your share certificate or dividend information)
- UK postcode
- You will then need to choose a username and a password. When selecting your password you will notice a bar changing colour - this will show you how secure your chosen password is. You will be asked to enter your username and password every time you log in to the Share Portal to identify yourself.
- You will also need to choose a memorable word. Each time you log in you will be asked to provide three random letters from this word.
- You will need to confirm that you have read and accept the terms and conditions of the service (general conditions of use). These can be read on screen or opened in a new window and printed for your records. The general conditions of use can be accessed at anytime at the bottom of each webpage.
- Once registered you will have full access to your account. Link will send you a confirmation letter and an email.
I cannot register. What should I do?
Please check the details you are entering match what is on your share certificate or on information set to you by Link. If you are still having difficulties please call the Shareholder Services Team and they can help you.
I have just divorced, how do I change my name on the register?
Please write to the Shareholder Services Team and enclose the original copies of the following:
- Decree absolute
- Birth/marriage certificate to confirm maiden name
- Share certificate.
Employee name changes will automatically be updated if you have informed HR.
What are Link doing to protect my Share Portal account?
Link is constantly monitoring and improving security on the Share Portal to ensure your details are kept safe and secure.
A recent security upgrade has enhanced security by introducing case sensitive passwords and the introduction of a memorable word. Link has also improved its monitoring of suspicious behaviour to combat potential online fraud.
The password strength bar will help you to achieve a strong password by changing colour to indicate the strength of the password. Try using a mixture of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols in order to strengthen your password.
Remember to keep your password safe by not writing it down or passing on to anyone else. You will never be asked by Legal & General or Link to reveal your password.
Why have I been locked out of my Share Portal account?
You will have been locked out of your account due to three incorrect attempts to register or log in. Please contact Link to verify your details over the phone. Link can then unlock your account for you. Accounts are locked for your online security - to prevent any person or program hacking in to your account.
I have lost my share certificate, how can I get a replacement?
If you have lost your share certificate please get in touch by calling the Shareholder Services Team to tell Link your certificate is missing. If your certificate has been stolen they will need a crime reference number issued by the police. They will then issue you with a letter of indemnity to replace the missing certificate.
Depending on the value of the shares you may be liable for an administration charge and a cover fee.
The cover fee will be used to provide funds in the event that someone else was relying on your original certificate, and as a result suffers a financial loss which you cannot personally meet. Link can provide this cover for you, in which case the total fee you will be liable to pay will increase based on the current share price. However, if you prefer, you can make your own arrangements by having the indemnity form guaranteed by a suitably authorised bank, insurance company or guarantee society.
If you need to pay a fee you can pay over the telephone using your debit card. If you do not have a debit card you can send a cheque payable to ‘Link Registrars Limited’. Please note Link cannot accept payment by cash, postal order or credit card.
Once you return the completed letter of indemnity, it will be processed and the replacement share certificate(s) will be sent to you within ten working days.
If you need the share certificate(s) more quickly, Link offers an express service for an extra fee. The replacement share certificate(s) will then be sent to you within two working days. When calling Link please ask our Information Consultant about this service.
When we receive the letter of indemnity, we may need to carry out satisfactory security and anti-fraud checks.
I have found my missing certificate but haven't sent you the indemnity back, what should I do?
Link will cancel the letter of indemnity. Please put a line through the letter of indemnity and return it to Link with a cheque made out to ‘Link Registrars Limited’ to cover the cancellation fee.
I have found my missing certificate but have already sent my indemnity form back, what should I do?
If you have already filled in a letter of indemnity and sent it back to Link, the original certificate is now invalid. You will need to send the original certificate back to Link to be cancelled – it will be unable to refund any fees you paid.
I have found my missing cheque, what should I do?
If you have already told Link the payment is missing the original cheque is now invalid as they will have placed a 'stop' on the cheque. You will need to destroy the original cheque - Link will be unable to refund any fees you paid.
If you haven't reported the cheque as missing and it is still in date then you should take the cheque to your bank to be cashed.
My cheque is out of date, what should I do?
If your cheque is out of date please get in touch with Link by calling the shareholder helpline and it will arrange to replace it.
Depending on the value of the outstanding payment you may need to pay a fee. Fees can be paid over the phone using your debit card, but the name on the card must match the name of the shareholder.
If you do not have a debit card you can send a cheque payable to Link Registrars Limited. Link cannot accept payment by cash, postal order or credit card.
I haven't received my dividend tax voucher, what should I do?
If the dividend has been paid recently allow a few days for the post. Or, if you would like a duplicate tax voucher, please contact the Link Shareholder Services Team. You may need to pay a fee. Fees can be paid over the phone using your debit card, but the name on the card must match the name of the shareholder.
Link cannot accept payment of fees by cash, postal order or credit card.
What are E-communications and how do I sign up for them?
Legal & General Group Plc offers you the option to receive company communications by email. If you have not already, you can choose to receive communications electronically by selecting the ‘Manage your account’ link on the home page of the Share Portal and then ‘Manage your communication preferences’ on the left-hand side. Alternatively, you may wish to continue to receive company communications by post.
E-communication provides faster access to company information and is safer; documents sent electronically cannot get lost in the post or be read by others. It also reduces paper wastage and company costs. Examples of company information that can be sent to you electronically include the Annual Report and Notice of AGM.
For employee share plans not all electronic communication facilities are available.
General shareholder information
How much are my shares worth?
You can view an indicative value of your shareholding on the Share Portal. You can also visit the London Stock Exchange website to get a value. Alternatively, contact a bank or stock broker or check a national newspaper.
Please note that the share price obtained is subject to change, depending on market conditions.
How do I sell my shares?
Link provides a quick and easy service to sell and buy shares in this company and many other leading UK companies, at up-to-the minute share prices. You can deal online by visiting www.landgshareportal.com.

How do I register the death of a shareholder?
Contact the Link Shareholder Services Team who will advise you what is required.
If the shares were held by just one shareholder, Link needs to see one of the original legal documents which form the Grant of Representation, either:
- Grant of Probate (if there is a will)
- Letters of Administration (if there is no will)
- Confirmation (Scotland).
If the shares were held by more than one shareholder, when one of the shareholders dies Link will need to see the following:
- An original death certificate
- All the original share certificates that make up the holding.
Once we have registered these documents Link will let you know what you can do next. Link will be unable to make any changes to the shareholding or allow any sales or transfers until it has registered the legal representatives.
The document must be taken out in the country in which the company is incorporated. This indemnity protects Legal & General and Link from any claims that may arise if another party contacts Link with a claim on the estate.
I cannot attend the next AGM or GM, can I still vote?
Yes. You will need to complete and return the proxy card that will be sent to you and send it back to Link (if a poll is taken, your proxy will be able to cast your vote).
If you cannot appoint a proxy, you can still send the proxy form back to Link and in the event of a poll; the chairman will cast your vote in line with your instructions.
