Security information

Legal & General's secure-server software encrypts all the personal information that you enter on our website. This helps to protect your data from prying eyes, abuse or tampering as it travels the Internet between your browser and our server.

In order to be confident that your information will be safe if sent to us through our secure server link, we recommend that you use a browser which supports 128 bit encryption. A browser which supports this level of encryption is available from Microsoft (Version IE4.0 and above) or Netscape (Version NS4.0 and above).

By using this technology, Legal & General enables customers to make financial transactions over the Internet with confidence.

Note: If you are a customer of AOL or Compuserve (or other Internet Access Provider) and use their customised Internet Explorer version 3 browser on Win95, 98 or NT, then you will need to obtain an upgrade from your service provider.
